In order to liberate the Hindus of Tamil Nadu who were enslaved by the Dravidian ideology and to create awareness among the Hindus, the Southern Tilak Rama.Gopalan decided to convert ordinary Hindus into valiant Hindus by keeping Ganesha Thirumani through the Hindu Front.The first Vinayaka Chaturthi was held on Thanappa Street in Thiruvallikeni, Chennai in 1983. At present, Vinayaka Chaturthi is celebrated by Hindus irrespective of caste or party in more than 1.5 lakh places.
