2003 Bharathiyar Gurukul

Children used to lose their parents without any support and face various hardships. When such children are trapped by social enemies, they too are raised against society. Many times children are handed over to proselytizing organizations. They become anti-Hindus and enemies of the nation by converting.

Therefore, the Bharathiyar Gurukulam Trust was started in 2003 on behalf of the Hindu Munnani with 7 students on the campus of the Trichy Bharatiya Cultural Training College to nurture such helpless children with Hindu thinking and patriotism. Spiritual education such as early morning wake-up call, yoga, exercise, slogans and songs are taught in the school system as in the past, and school education is taught through government educational centers.

All arrangements are made completely free to make students who are marginalized in the community self-reliant and to make them live with the national and social stream. The foundation also provides job opportunities as needed after they graduate. Trained students conduct cultural training classes in neighboring villages. With the aim of expanding this service to all the major cities of Tamil Nadu, another house called Bharathiyar Gurukulam was started at the Tamilchelvan Memorial Complex near Koduvai in Tirupur.

Annually a 5 day training camp for students is conducted at three locations. More than 400 students benefit from this every year. Special events like Lantern Puja and Go Puja are also held annually. Accommodation is provided free of cost to pilgrims on foot in these homes. Notebooks were being distributed to poor children on behalf of Bharathiyar Gurukulam Trust. School fees are paid to poor children who cannot afford school fees.

The Bharathiyar Gurukul, which is involved in various services, is making a huge impact on the community and flourishing in the area.
